|Leung Tak Wing
|Leung, Tak Wing, is recently graduated with entrance scholarships from
Guildhall School of Music on the Master in Orchestral Training, studied
bassoon with Meyrick Alexander and Graham Sheen after graduated from
Royal Academy of Music on Postgraduate Diploma in Performance with John
Orford, Gareth Newman and David Chatterton for her further advanced
study. She began her musical studies in Hong Kong Music Office when she
was 10. Tak Wing graduated with several scholarships at Hong Kong
Academy for Performing Arts for the Bachelor of Music, where she studied
with Kam Shui, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra principal
bassoonist. Besides, she is an active bassoonist who is a regularly
deputies of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macao Orchestra,
Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.
She has toured to Beijing and Shanghai in China and Jeju in Korea with
the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra in 1999 and the Hong Kong Youth
Symphonic Band in 2001 respectively.
Tak Wing was one of the members of Canton International Summer Music
Academy under the music director Charles Dutoit and Janos Furst in
summer 2005, 2006 and 2007 studied with Richard Honeich, the former
principal bassoon of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Robin O'Neill,
principal bassoon of the Philharmonia Orchestra respectively who
received great comments after that.
She was active playing the orchestras in London, such as Orchestra of
the City, Corinthian Chamber Orchestra, I Maestri, and performed chamber
music in many venues include Barbican Concert Hall and Wigmore Hall in
London. She is now working as a freelance musician and teaching in The
International School of Macao and Pure Orchestral Center in Hong Kong.
